What are the ways to avoid Roller bearing rust?
Rusting rarely occurs during the serving of a roller bearing except for the ones that served long-time or using in harsh environments. The roller bearings are generally rust-proofed before leaving the factory. Here, we will definitely introduce the methods for avoiding the rust of the roller bearings.
1. Clean the bearing surface: An appropriate method must be selected for cleaning according to the nature of the surface of the anti-rust object and the current conditions . Generally, there are more solvent cleaning methods, chemical treatment cleaning methods and mechanical cleaning methods.
2. The surface of the bearing is dry and cleaned: after cleaning, it can be dried with filtered dry compressed air, or dried with a dryer at 120 to 170 degrees Celsius, or wiped with clean gauze.
3. Immersion method: The roller bearing is immersed in anti-rust grease, and the surface is adhered with a layer of anti-rust grease. The thickness of the oil film can be achieved by controlling the temperature or viscosity of the anti-rust grease.
4. There is also that human hand sweat can cause corrosion of roller bearings. Human sweat is a weakly acidic liquid, and its pH value is 5~6. In addition to sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium salts, it also contains a small amount of organic acids such as urea, lactic acid, and citric acid. When sweat comes into contact with the bearing surface, a layer of sweat film is formed on the bearing surface.
The sweat film will cause an electrochemical effect on the bearing and corrode the bearing, thereby causing embroidery. Sweating is unavoidable. The way to prevent rust caused by hand sweat is that the production personnel should wear gloves, finger cots, or use special tools to take the bearing when assembling the bearing. Do not touch the bearing surface with your hands.
